Film Independent champions the cause of independent film and supports a community of artists who embody diversity, innovation, and uniqueness of vision.

Project:Involve is Film Independent's signature diversity program, dedicated to increasing cultural diversity in the film industry by cultivating the careers of under-represented filmmakers. The program selects filmmakers from culturally diverse backgrounds and filmmaking tracks. The Fellows are paired one-on-one with a mentor from the film industry. In addition to the mentorship, the Fellows also attend filmmaking workshops, community screenings, and receive career development assistance.

In this year's nine-month program, the Fellows created 3-minute "City Stories" short films shot in the style of French New Wave with inspiration from the Banana Republic Fall 5.

PROJECT: INVOLVE

I just wrapped a great project directed by Jenn Garison (above, middle), 

a short film called "Three Minutes."  The film is part of  a program called

 "Project: Involve," which was created by Film Independent, producers 

of the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, and is partnered 

with sponsors, Banana Republic and Vanity Fair.

Sakura and Japan

I got to spend a gorgeous Sakura filled week in Tokyo, dancing for a Japanese artist, which I cannot disclose until the album is released.  Amazingly enough, we arrived just when the cherry blossoms had bloomed.  This only happens for about one week every year before the wind sweeps them away.   Once again I'm blonde (above, doll on left) with my friend Mandy Coulton.
